It was already looking pretty nice in the primer which was a relief because we were hoping the contrasting light engine compartment with the deep purple of the car would look right.
 
Now it was time for the actual finish. The Zolatone was sprayed at a distance of about 30 inches in order to achieve the look of the spatter that we have. Spraying it from a closer distance shrinks the size of the spatter. The manufacturer's recommendation is 24 inches.

Now there was no turning back! The moment of truth came and removing all the masking was like an unveiling.

Needless to say we are EXTREMELY happy with the way it came out.
